What is Assistance for Damage to Agricultural Land and Other Losses?

Benefit
- Under this scheme, in cases where farmers with agricultural land up to 2 hectares suffer damage and the layer of sand or sediment exceeds 3 inches, financial assistance is provided at the rate of ₹18,000/- per hectare for the removal of debris, leveling of land, or repair and restoration of fisheries reservoirs in hilly areas. A minimum of ₹2,200/- is payable to each beneficiary under this relief. - Farmers are provided ₹47,000/- per hectare for land damaged due to landslides, avalanches, or river diversions, with a minimum assistance of ₹5,000/- payable to each beneficiary.

    How to Apply

    1. Step 1: Offline application — step 1

      Information about the disaster and the resulting damage is received from various sources. The concerned Patwari verifies the damage and records it in the P-20 form. The Patwari’s report is subsequently verified by the Tehsildar and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Approval is then obtained from the District Magistrate. Once the District Magistrate’s approval is received, relief funds are disbursed to the concerned beneficiaries at the Tehsil level.
